How Can I Send More Than 30 Emails Per Hour?

On shared web hosting accounts, there is a standard limit of 30 email messages per hour. This restriction is imposed to maintain the quality and reputation of the common IP addresses used by multiple clients.

Why Does This Limit Exist?

Shared hosting accounts use shared IP addresses. If an excessive number of messages is sent from the same IP within a short period, major email service providers (such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook) can identify this behavior as spam and take action. These actions include:

  • IP blocking: Emails sent from that IP will no longer reach recipients.

  • Domain blocking: Your domain (e.g., yourdomain.md) can be flagged as a spam sender, affecting the deliverability of all your emails, even legitimate ones.

  • Message filtering: Your emails may go directly to recipients' spam folders, unnoticed.

These consequences affect not only the original sender but all users sharing the same IP, which underscores the importance of respecting limits.

Solutions for Extending the Limit

If your email sending needs exceed the standard limit of 30 messages per hour, there are alternatives:

Upgrade to a Plan with a Dedicated IP

We recommend choosing a web hosting package that includes a dedicated IP. This allows you to have your own IP reputation, independent of other users. With a dedicated IP, the sending limit can be significantly extended, reaching up to 400 messages per hour.

Note: This 400 messages per hour limit is a standard recommendation to maintain a good reputation. While it can be removed in cases of absolute necessity, we make the following important clarification:

Completely removing the limit, even with a dedicated IP, significantly increases the risk of your domain being blocked by major email platforms or your messages being filtered by anti-spam filters. Even with a dedicated IP, sending a massive volume of emails without proper management can lead to deliverability issues.

Specialized Solutions for Email Marketing

If the primary purpose of increasing the limit is to send marketing messages to hundreds or thousands of users (newsletter campaigns, promotions, etc.), it is NOT recommended to use the email service included in your web hosting package, even with a dedicated IP.

For such campaigns, we strongly recommend using a specialized email marketing service. Platforms like Mailchimp are specifically designed for this purpose and offer multiple advantages:

  • Dedication and Deliverability: These services are optimized for bulk email delivery and constantly strive to ensure your messages reach the Inbox, not spam.

  • IP Reputation Management: They use a vast network of IPs and actively manage their reputation, monitoring blacklists and ensuring compliance.

  • Advanced Features: They offer tools for managing subscriber lists, creating professional templates, automation, segmentation, detailed reports (open rates, clicks, bounces), and GDPR/CAN-SPAM compliance.

  • Technical Support: Their technical team specializes in deliverability issues and can assist you in resolving any problems.

Using an email marketing service is essential to ensure your marketing messages reach your target audience and that your domain's reputation remains intact.
